Technical Session Details


International Conference on Materials, Manufacturing and Modelling (ICMMM) is a three day technical event that provides a platform for leading researchers, academicians and industry experts to come together and exchange knowledge and views on global changes in materials, manufacturing and modelling. This event is being jointly organized by the School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC), VIT in association with American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Chapter, VIT. It is being planned to organize this event once in every two years and ICMMM - 2021 will be third in the series which is being scheduled for 19th to 21st March 2021. ICMMM 2021 will be organized by VIT Vellore in association with University of Utah, USA, Liverpool John Moores University, UK and University of Tours, France.

University of Utah, USA

University of Utah is a public institution that was founded in 1850. It has a total undergraduate enrolment of around 25,000, its setting is urban, and the campus size is 1,535 acres. It is located on the east bench of the Salt Lake Valley, close to the Wasatch Range and approximately 2 miles east of downtown Salt Lake City. University of Utah is ranked #104 in National Universities. The University of Utah is a public research university in Salt Lake City, Utah. As the state's flagship university, it offers more than 100 undergraduate majors and more than 92 graduate degree programs. The University of Utah Asia Campus opened as an international branch campus in the Incheon Global Campus in Songdo, Incheon, South Korea in 2014. Three other European and American universities are also participating. The Asia Campus was funded by the South Korean government

Liverpool John Moores University, UK

Liverpool John Moores was founded in 1825 as Polytech, it became Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) in1992. LJMU is a vibrant community of over 23,000 students from over 100 countries and it is integral to the life of the city, with a global approach in forging international partnerships to facilitate world-leading research and collaboration. It is one of the largest, most dynamic and forward-thinking universities in the UK. LJMU is one of the highest climbers nationally in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, with 60% of research classified as world-leading or internationally excellent. LJMU has the world's largest robotic telescope and a state-of-art maritime 360 simulator. It is now the UK’s 20th largest university and Ranked 66 overall in the UK; and in top 50 for teaching, with 2,975 staff, offering over 250 undergraduate degrees, courses and research.

University of Tours, France

The University of Tours (French: Université de Tours), till 18 December 2017 François Rabelais University of Tours (Université François-Rabelais de Tours), is a public university in Tours, France. The university was formerly named after the French writer François Rabelais, and was founded in 1969. The University of Tours was established as part of efforts to modernize and democratize higher education in France. The university has seven campuses, distributed across the city of Tours. The university comprises seven departments, as well as an engineering school and two technology institutes. The university offers bachelor, master and doctorate degrees in line with the Bologna Process. Research at the University is at the forefront in many specializations including materials for energy technology.

About ASME

ASME-VIT is a Mechanical Engineering student chapter in VIT, Vellore. It was established in 2010 with the help of officials from ASME-INDIA. Our vision is to preach knowledge about the practical applications of Mechanical Engineering concepts, provide a platform for students to develop and showcase their technical skills and most importantly; develop a network of professionals working in the industry. In order to accomplish our vision, ASME-VIT has successfully organized symposiums like INERTIA-2013, MECHNOVATE-2015, ASME GT INDIA Conference-2015, HPVC-2016, SPDC-2016, MECHNOVATE-2016, 2018 and 2020. ASME – VIT had the privilege of organizing the Asia – Pacific, E-Fest 2019 which is considered as one of the flagship events of ASME. ASME-VIT has also won the Outstanding Student Section Award granted by ASME-INNTERNATIONAL at Asia-Pacific level in August 2016 for its perseverance and overwhelming outreach. ASME-VIT will continue its legacy of success and scale new heights in the years to come

    It is mandatory that at least one author of all accepted papers have to register for the conference to ensure that the paper is included in the proceeding. Only registered authors are allowed to present their papers. Registration fee covers conference kit, access to all sessions, journal processing fee, coffee/tea, working lunch and welcome dinner. Accommodation on payment basis will be arranged on request in VIT Hostel or Hotels in Vellore. Please refer to ICMMM-VIT Website for tariff.
